Values, culture, and underlying beliefs of human services providers may raise dilemmas when handling cases involving issues such as infidelity, domestic violence, and parenting matters. In this week’s media program, “Barbara—The Human Services Professional: Chapter 3,” a number of issues impact the family, which raises questions that might be influenced by your own personal values. For this Discussion, review the media program and consider the dilemmas affecting the family. Reflect on who is involved and what values and cultural influences might impact the case. With these thoughts in mind: a brief description of the dilemmas portrayed in the media presentation, including the individuals involved in the case. Then, identify the values and cultural influences that are presented in the case. Explain how these values and cultural influences might be impacting the dilemmas portrayed. Finally, explain how you, as the human services professional, would support the clients in the case study.

. Imagine that you are talking to a friend who is not in this class and s/he asks you to recommend some study strategies (now that you’ve read the Memory chapter). Discuss THREE of the following concepts and explain how each one can be used to help your friend study: elaborative rehearsal, deep processing, chunking, distributed practice, memory strategies (you can describe one or more specific ones the book mentions in “Improve Your Memory” section on pp. 247-250 and how each one helps memory). Pick THREE techniques/strategies for memory improvement and discuss WHY each technique/strategy helps memory (using terminology from Chapter 6). For example, does it help encoding or retrieval and in what way? Does it affect how the information is processed? Does it help make the material more organized, more distinctive, more personally relevant? (Remember to reference and cite at least two sources; textbook can be one of them.)
For this assignment, step out of the “classroom” and research your community. Part of your program and course objectives is to understand where you will be able to work when you have completed this degree. Although you may not have a license to practice, there are likely many local agencies you could work with, either as a consultant or a full-time employee. With this assignment, identify 3–5 different local sites where you could act as a consultant or employee. Clearly identify why you are qualified to work with the agencies you select. Note that you are not to approach these sites and present yourself as a forensic consultant, but you may identify yourself as a student of SNHU. If you visit a site, find out information about what services they provide and who is allowed to work with them. Be careful and ethical in how you present your own expertise.
Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape Training A SERE-certified psychologist is an operational psychologist who has completed a DoD Level-C SERE course. This training is required for an operational psychologist to provide oversight to SERE training and to assist in the reintegration of isolated personnel. This training requirement provides operational psychologists with a foundation for understanding the challenges of surviving captivity; however, the training requirement has been somewhat controversial because when personnel experience these events firsthand, the mental sequelae can be traumatic. When an operational psychologist is assigned as a SERE-certified psychologist, his or her responsibility is to support military personnel before and after this type of training or real-world event, as well as provide interventions to staff as needed. Tasks: Using the module’s readings, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, research the need for operational psychologists to experience SERE training. Create a responding to the following questions:

A wife and mother of 2 middle childhood-aged sons cheated on her husband. Her infidelity resulted in her having a son with her secret lover. Her husband, J.M., did not learn that the newborn was not his until her lover saw that the baby looked just like him. He showed up at the married couple’s home to demand that he see his son. They sent him away. Soon after the lover’s visit, J.M. got a paternity test that ruled him out as the father. However, he decided to stay with his wife and raise the child as his own. Later, the lover took the couple to court to get joint custody of his child. Below is the court’s ruling: The court denied the paternity test and request for custody because (despite the infidelity) the couple was married. Screening tools are not designed to make diagnoses. They can give evidence that a problem exists. However, there is no guarantee that one screening tool or even one assessment or type of data will yield the necessary data to inform the addictions professional about a potential treatment plan and next steps. This is why addictions professionals may have to seek multiple (also known as multimodal) data sources from which to elicit sufficient data on an individual. In this Discussion, you will consider what you might do in a hypothetical situation in which a client’s scores on a screening tool are insufficient for the purposes of interpretation. your response to the following: Consider the scenario in the Week 4 Introduction. What sources of data might Terrence collect in order to understand the client’s problems? Explain why you chose each source. Finally, provide a rationale for the number of sources you recommend.
Discussion Question: Prior to beginning work on this discussion forum, be certain to have read all the required resources for this week. In recent years, the psychology profession has been greatly influenced by various forms of technology. The prevalence of psychology professionals using technology to market themselves and engage, socialize, and interact with others has created new opportunities and challenges. This is particularly true with regard to potential interactions with clients via these technologies. Given the exponential growth with which these technological advancements are permeating our world, we expect to see the proliferation of new issues, challenges, and opportunities within the realms of psychological research and practice. In your initial post: What are the potential responsibilities of the psychology professionals as providers of care with regard to the use of these technologies? Does the increase in ease, convenience, and experience satisfaction for the parties involved outweigh any potential negative outcomes?
During the Discussion this week, you explored different leadership styles. For this Assignment, you will use your leader assessment results to identify a style that comes naturally to you and a different style that might be useful in the leadership role you selected. As you do so, keep in mind that leaders often use more than one style at a time to meet the unique needs of the organization and followers. As a result, you may determine that it is best to combine styles to be most effective in the leadership role you selected. In addition to identifying your leadership styles, you will consider your current and desired stages of development in the Leadership Maturity Framework. The framework includes nine stages of leader development, with lower stages representing rigid and simplistic ways of thinking and higher stages representing flexible and complex ways of thinking. Submit a that addresses the following.
In a 2- to 3-page paper: You probably noted from the Learning Resources this week the interrelationship between the processes and constructs of development, in relation to adolescent development. Cognitive changes, including hypothetico-deductive reasoning, metacognitive skills, and more complex forms of thinking impact how an adolescent perceives and reacts to the world. gher-order thinking contributes to how romantic and peer relationships are established and maintained.Think back to your experiences as an adolescent and the feelings and thoughts you had regarding your developing body. How did your burgeoning cognitive abilities impact your adjustment to the effects of puberty? Did the imaginary audience and personal fable have any impact on your behavior and beliefs? Keep these questions in mind as you examine the effects of physical development on adolescents in this Assignment. Berk, L. E. (2018). (7th ed.). As noted previously, the general residential property criminal offense rate, which includes burglary, increased by 10% in 2010 and 2011 (U.S. Department of Justice, 2012). It is generally assumed that property crimes are not “violent”—at least in the same way as a murder, rape, or assault; however, to many victims, property crimes are as mentally traumatic as any physical assault. Often, property crimes leave even more scars. The trauma caused by the damage or loss is not visible to others and, therefore, is often ignored or trivialized by those responding or assisting. This adds to the pain of the victim. Sometimes, the victims of property crimes are reluctant to tell others about their anguish over the loss of valuables—not necessarily valuable for monetary reasons, but often irreplaceable due to emotional and personal reasons. Our textbook and course folder contain examples of different ‘lines of questioning’ when working with chronically ill patients. Our text offers detailed examples of both standard and intensive treatment strategies and the content folder contains two articles featuring prominent authors in the area of CBT interventions for Chronic Illness (our textbook author Len Sperry and well-known health psychologist Craig White). Dr. White’s article provides a more traditional view of CBT principles applied to therapeutic interventions for chronically ill patients, while Dr. Sperry’s article proposes a line of questioning stemming from a modified Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy. These readings contain a list and examples of therapist-guided inquiries that could serve as ‘maps’ for intervention. After reading both articles and reviewing our course materials, describe which line of questioning you would likely find more acceptable if you were a experiencing difficulties with . Nietzsche A good, short, summary of Kierkegaard… As we saw with Empiricism, Rationalism too would spawn several associated movements. Indeed, out of German Faculty Theorists such as Herbart and Lotze, psychology would be one of those new movements. That said, here we will explore some of its “cousins.” 1) Consider the image below. A scientist tells you that the formula shown is the essence of that shell you picked up on the beach as a souvenir of what had been the best day ever. How would Goethe (or any Romantic) respond? 2) What influences on Freud can you find in Schopenhauer and Nietzsche? 3) Defend the thesis that Kierkegaard would define existentialism as “Never let other people do your thinking for you.” 4) Defend the thesis that Nietzsche’s many bold statements are not intended to be taken literally, but are just a method to provoke you into thinking for yourself.
Volunteers and political officials in local communities often campaign to improve conditions and provide services to increase the well-being of individuals and families living in those communities. If you are the parent of young children, you might focus on improving the local school or creating safe places where children can play. If you are an individual in later adulthood or a caregiver for an individual in later adulthood, what community resources might be important to you? For this week’s Assignment, you evaluate the resources that your local community provides for its older members. To prepare for this Assignment, research the resources available in your local community to support the issues and concerns of the older population. Note any gaps in these services and consider what improvements might be made to existing services as well as what services should be added. Â a 2- to 4-page paper that includes the following:

Social exchange theory and social identity theory posit compelling notions about human behavior. Social exchange theory focuses on reciprocity and exchange of resources. With the establishment of an exchange process, a social quid pro quo or give-and-take emerges. Social identity theory (Tajfel & Turner, 1979) maintains that individuals, once placed in groups either by their own volition or assigned by an outside entity, attempt to differentiate themselves by social categorization. For this Discussion, consider how you might apply social exchange theory and social identity theory to help managers develop motivation strategies in organizational settings. There are two main types of research: primary and secondary. In primary research, you collect your own data to analyze a topic of interest. For this Assignment, you will be conducting secondary research. In secondary research, you research information already collected by a primary researcher. Performing secondary research includes evaluating existing literature for strengths, limitations, and ethical considerations. When evaluating literature, think about questions such as the following: (Walden University Writing Center, 2009, p. 1) When conducting secondary research, you have the responsibility of evaluating your own research to avoid ethical issues. Find three peer-reviewed journal articles in the Walden Library databases related to a human and social services program that interests you professionally. You may wish to use the program you selected for this week’s Discussion. Consider strengths and limitations when evaluating the articles. Finally, consider potential ethical issues in conducting secondary research. Purchase the answer to view it
One of the aspects of scholarly work is giving attribution to ideas and information sources that you use—giving credit where it is due. Failure to do so diminishes your credibility and violates the principles of academic integrity. Plagiarism is the presentation of work done by others as your own work without giving credit. This can occur deliberately or inadvertently, but in either case, it is a violation of academic integrity. To prepare for this discussion: Review The Plagiarism Spectrum found in the Learning Resources. https://www.turnitin.com/static/plagiarism-spectrum/ The two most common violations (Clone and CTRL-C) may be most familiar to you. Social psychology examines the behavior of others. Unlike many of the other perspectives we’ve studied, social psychology looks at how other people impact why we do what we do. Key theorists in this field included Gordon Allport, Dr. Philip Zimbardo, Solomon Asch, and Stanley Milgram. Some areas of interest to social psychologists include: conformity, obedience, groupthink, why some people work less in groups, why do people stand in lines, and why do people follow rules. While social psychology has grown in recent years, so have the experimental studies that fueled the research to support it. This brief article outlines the highlights and flaws of the Stanford Prison Experiment and discusses why it is still controversial. Solomon Asch’s study examines conformity. Consider what you would have done in a similar situation. This article offers a deeper understanding of the implications of Asch’s study and other considerations researchers of the time ignored.

Advertisements for tobacco products, including cigarettes “… became a ready source of income for numerous medical organizations and journals, including the and the (JAMA), as well as many branches and bulletins of local medical associations” (Wolinsky & Brune, 1994). Physicians and reference to doctors and smoking were once common in tobacco industry advertisements. The role of physicians in the current opioid crisis is now under scrutiny on television (Farmer, 2019) by trade publications (King, 2018), peer-reviewed journals (deShazo, et al, 2018), and by physicians themselves (rsch, 2019).
